International Women’s Day: Celebrating the Women Leading Cosmetic Nursing
Every year International Women’s Day gives us the opportunity to recognise the strength, leadership and contribution of women in Aesthetic Medicine.

At Juv’ae, however, celebrating women is something we see every single day.
In aesthetic medicine, women are truly at the heart of the profession.
Around 95% of patients seeking aesthetic treatments are women, and approximately 95% of cosmetic practitioners are women. This means aesthetic medicine is a unique industry where women care for women, guide women and support women to feel confident in how they present themselves to the world.
So in many ways, celebrating women is woven into everything we do.
Why Patients Seek Aesthetic Treatments
For many patients, aesthetic medicine is about far more than appearance alone.
Women visit aesthetic clinics for many different reasons. Some want to look refreshed. Others want to restore confidence after major life events, stress or ageing changes. Many simply want to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.
Cosmetic nurses play an incredibly important role in this journey.
Aesthetic medicine is not simply about performing injections. It involves listening carefully to patients, assessing their anatomy and medical history, understanding their goals and helping them make thoughtful treatment decisions.
Cosmetic nurses combine clinical expertise with empathy, communication and trust. That relationship between nurse and patient is one of the reasons aesthetic medicine continues to grow across Australia and globally.
The Juv’ae Journey: Supporting Cosmetic Nurses
When Juv’ae was founded, Nicole brought her nursing and cosmetic clinical experience, while Melissa brought business and financial expertise.
Together, we recognised something important about the cosmetic nursing profession.
For nurses to succeed long term in aesthetic medicine, they ned two critical forms of support:
-
Strong clinical foundations
-
Strong business knowledge
Clinical excellence ensures patients receive safe, ethical and effective treatments. Business confidence allows nurses to build sustainable clinics and careers.
Supporting both of these areas has been central to the Juv’ae philosophy from the beginning.
The Rise of Women Leaders in Aesthetic Medicine
Over the past decade we have watched something powerful unfold within the cosmetic nursing profession.
More nurses are stepping into leadership roles. Women are opening clinics, mentoring other practitioners and building thriving businesses within their communities.
Cosmetic nurses are not only delivering treatments. They are shaping the future of aesthetic medicine.
While the industry is largely led by women, we also work alongside many exceptional male doctors, educators and industry partners who support and respect female leadership. When professionals collaborate with mutual respect, the entire industry benefits.
The Power of the Cosmetic Nursing Community
One of the things we are most proud of at Juv’ae is the community that has formed around our network of nurses.
Many practitioners initially enter aesthetic medicine feeling like they must figure everything out alone. But when they connect with other cosmetic nurses, something powerful happens.
Knowledge is shared.
Experiences are discussed openly.
Support systems begin to form.
Women supporting women.
Nurses backing each other.
Professionals growing together.
That sense of community is incredibly important for building confidence, strengthening clinical judgement and creating sustainable careers in aesthetic medicine.
Celebrating Women Every Day
International Women’s Day reminds us how powerful women can be when they support one another.
In cosmetic medicine, we see this strength every day.
Women caring for women.
Women building businesses.
Women leading within the healthcare profession.
So perhaps instead of saying “hear me roar”, there’s a phrase that feels even more fitting for aesthetic medicine:
Watch us age with grace, confidence and success.
To every nurse in the Juv’ae community, thank you for the care you provide to your patients, the professional standards you uphold and the leadership you demonstrate every day.
We are proud to walk this journey with you.
Happy International Women’s Day.
Much love,
Mel & Nic xx
