What is the Juv'ae Clinical Governance Committee?
The Clinical Governance Committee (CGC) is a multi-disciplinary panel established in 2023 to review every product, treatment and protocol adopted across the Juv'ae cosmetic injectables network. Each proposal is assessed against five governance questions before it reaches practitioners - covering evidence, safety profile, regulatory compliance, risk and long-term patient outcomes.
The committee brings together doctors, senior nurse leaders, clinic owners and a clinical governance manager - a mix of clinical, regulatory and frontline experience. Combined, the 2026 committee holds 92 years in cosmetic nursing and medicine.

Dr Atiyeh Shahriari - Doctor | 9 years experience in cosmetic medicine
Dr Shahriari began her medical career in Iran, earning her degree in 2006, before moving to Australia and expanding her expertise across Adelaide and Melbourne. Her experience spans general practice, emergency care, psychiatry, general surgery and general medicine. She found her calling in cosmetic medicine in 2017, and brings that breadth of clinical experience to supporting practitioners and managing complications - turning clinical incidents and near misses into practical learning that strengthens education, protocols, guidance and support.

Dr Steven Diep - Doctor | 6 years experience in cosmetic medicine
Dr Diep graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in 2017 from the University of Sydney and completed hospital training across general medicine, general surgery, emergency medicine and general practice. He dedicated his career to cosmetic medicine and was clinically trained by Juv'ae in 2020 as a Telehealth Doctor, regularly supporting cosmetic nurses. He brings the perspectives of telehealth and injecting practice, supporting rigorous review of SOPs, evidence and product safety profiles - including regular review of complications and side effects to identify patterns and reduce risk.

Karen Rowe - Registered Nurse | 17 years experience in cosmetic nursing
As a cosmetic nurse and clinic owner in regional Western Australia, Karen brings a practical, collaborative and systems-focused perspective to the committee. She looks beyond individual issues to identify opportunities that strengthen patient safety, support clinicians and improve consistency across an organisation - and believes good governance is about creating practical systems that enable high standards to be achieved every day.

Jess Menken - Clinical Governance Manager | 8 years with Juv'ae
Jess brings an operations background to the committee, coordinating meetings, agendas, minutes and key actions. She supports committee administration and incident reporting - translating governance discussion into clear actions and operational improvement.

Elise Fox - Registered Nurse | 11 years experience in cosmetic nursing
An Advanced Aesthetic RN in the nursing profession since 2005, Elise began her career as a Personal Carer, then an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse specialising in cardiology and respiratory care, before moving into cosmetic nursing. She's had extensive one-on-one training through Juv'ae, and continues to invest in professional development each year through workshops, online courses, hands-on training and conferences.

Melissa Isaia - Commercial | 17 years experience
As Director and CEO of Juv'ae, Melissa is dedicated to supporting nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring they have the tools, guidance and confidence to succeed with integrity. Melissa co-founded the CGC so clinical decisions are guided by evidence, ethics, regulatory compliance and long-term patient outcomes - not commercial opportunity or innovation alone.

Nicole Schmid-Sanele - Registered Nurse | 17 years experience in cosmetic nursing
A pioneering figure in cosmetic medicine, Nicole co-founded Juv'ae in 2009 with a vision to elevate standards of care and professionalism across the industry. With an intensive-care background, she's dedicated herself to empowering nurses with the specialised skills and knowledge required for safe practice, focused on patient safety, education and risk management and moving the profession from isolated learning to collective improvement through consistent standards and open discussion.

Jacinta King - Registered Nurse | 10 years experience in cosmetic nursing
Jacinta leads clinical governance, quality improvement and performance initiatives across Juv'ae's national network of cosmetic nurses. With a background spanning nursing leadership, business ownership, project management and the aesthetics industry, she brings both a clinical and commercial perspective to her role working across risk management, practitioner education, policy and procedure development, compliance and quality assurance, and playing a key role in identifying areas of risk and improvement across the network.
