JULY 2025

New SOP Now Live: Minimum Experience
Requirements for High-Risk Areas

We’ve introduced a new Standard Operating Procedure to support patient safety and uphold clinical standards for all Juv’ae nurses.

From 1 July 2025, nurses must meet strict eligibility criteria before performing procedures in high-risk zones like:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Tear trough
  • Buccal hollowing
  • Temples
These areas carry higher complication risks due to complex anatomy, including potential for intravascular injection and even visual loss.

To perform treatments in these zones, nurses must have:

  • At least 24 months of full-time equivalent experience as a cosmetic injector
  • Ongoing documented cannula use
  • Independent, consistent practice in lower-risk zones
  • Completion of supervised upskilling and internal assessments

Completing a training course alone is no longer enough. Readiness is determined by demonstrated clinical hours, hands-on experience, and internal sign-off.

There’s a formal pathway for those seeking early approval. If you believe your skills meet the standard but you haven’t yet reached 24 months, you can apply for an exception. The approval process may take up to four weeks and includes review of treatment notes and training history.

This is about safety, accountability, and protecting the profession. We encourage you to review the SOP in full and assess your eligibility.
