APRIL 2025

Juv’ae has compliance at HEART

At Juv’ae, clinical excellence is our foundation. And at the heart of that foundation is compliance.

While it may not be as visually striking as before-and-after photos or as immediately gratifying as a patient’s smile, compliance is what underpins trust, safety, and professionalism. It protects your registration, supports patient well-being, and enables you to grow your cosmetic career with confidence.

With the release of AHPRA’s updated cosmetic guidelines expected later this month, now is the time to reaffirm our commitment to high standards and safe practice.

Why Compliance Matters

The cosmetic industry is evolving. As awareness increases across the public, media and regulatory bodies, maintaining strong professional standards has never been more important. In today’s environment, clinical skills must be matched with accountability, good documentation, and adherence to the frameworks that govern our practice.

Compliance is not an add-on - it’s integral to every aspect of professional care.

The Juv’ae Compliance Toolkit

To support you, the Juv’ae Academy provides a central hub of policies, procedures, and clinical resources. With over 50 documents and tools available, it’s designed to help you integrate compliance into everyday practice.

This framework ensures that every practitioner affiliated with Juv’ae operates within a defined scope, underpinned by clinical training, regulatory alignment, and national oversight.

Please take time to review these materials this month and ensure they are reflected in your clinical environment.

Clinical Integrity in the Everyday

Compliance extends beyond policies - it’s visible in how you set up your space, manage your medications, and care for patients before, during and after treatment.

For example:

  • Your treatment room should maintain infection control protocols, have an emergency kit, correct sharps disposal, and be kept clean and tidy.
  • Medication management must comply with Schedule 4 requirements. All prescription-only products must be prescribed by a Juv’ae telehealth prescriber, tracked by batch, stored safely, and administered per clinical documentation.

These are essential, not optional. And with the right systems in place, they can be maintained with confidence and consistency.

Telehealth & Clinical Handover

Telehealth is an important part of the Juv’ae model, offering patients access to safe, regulated care and ensuring that prescribing remains within clinical boundaries.

To support this, each patient’s medical history, face assessment and clinical notes must be shared with the prescriber. This information is essential for the prescriber to make an informed clinical decision.

We’ve created a practical handover checklist to help you meet this requirement. It can be pinned to your iPad or workspace to make the process simple and routine. See HERE.

Responsible Communication & Advertising

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has introduced clearer requirements for how cosmetic services are communicated to the public, particularly online.

This includes careful use of language, imagery, brand names, and pricing to avoid creating unrealistic expectations or inadvertently breaching advertising codes. These requirements apply to all regulated health services and reflect the importance of clear, responsible communication with patients.

If you're unsure about how the guidelines apply to your content, please refer to our advertising resources or reach out for clarification.

Staying Professionally Prepared

Your AHPRA registration, indemnity insurance, and CPD requirements all form part of your professional framework. It’s important that these are reviewed regularly and not just renewed once a year.

You can use the Juv’ae Academy to log and track your CPD, ensure all documentation is current, and take the time to refresh your understanding of policy updates and clinical protocols.

Looking Ahead: April Policy Updates

We’re expecting AHPRA to release updated cosmetic guidelines in the coming weeks. Juv’ae is actively monitoring developments and engaging with industry stakeholders to ensure we are prepared for any changes.

Once the new guidelines are published, our internal policies will be updated accordingly. These will be available via the Juv’ae platform, and we ask that you review and incorporate any changes into your practice.

Ongoing Support

We understand that managing a clinic can be complex, especially when working independently. That’s why the Juv’ae model includes built-in support systems from telehealth and training, to governance and clinical advice.

Compliance isn’t about restrictions, it’s about providing a consistent, professional experience for your patients and ensuring you are protected as a practitioner.

Thank you for always prioritising patient safety and continuing to uphold the standards that define safe, ethical cosmetic care.

Much love,

Mel & Nic
